At First United, we strive to tell kids two things: God loves them, and so do we.
Help us spread our message of love by attending our Children’s Sabbath worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Our annual Children’s Sabbath is a time to reflect on God’s gift of children, and the ways we as a church and individuals can renew our commitment to care for, protect and advocate for all children.
During worship, our kids will sing, greet, usher and read scripture.
The focus of Children’s Sabbath is to look deeply at the needs of children—both here in Norfolk and worldwide—and pray for them. During our reflections, we will ask God where He is calling us to meet the needs of children in the neighborhoods where we work, worship and live.
This would be a great day for you and your child to invite a friend or neighbor to church!
The Children’s Defense Fund has led and organized The National Observance of Children’s Sabbath since 1991. This ecumenical celebration brings together people of all faiths to address the needs of children.
