Pancakes with Santa, Dec. 14

Before Santa loads up his sleigh and starts his trek around the globe, he’ll stop by First United to have pancakes with some of his favorite northeast Nebraska children. “Pancakes with Santa” will be held from 10:30 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, Dec. 14. The event will include pancakes, photos with Santa, crafts and a reading of the Christmas story. “Pancakes with Santa” is a free event open to the public.

The Gospel Project Christmas Edition

Kids grades 4-6th are invited to join the Gospel Project Christmas Edition from 6:30-8pm every Wednesday from Nov. 20-Dec. 18. The children will learn about how God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth to be born as a baby in humble surroundings and that Christmas is the time to celebrate God’s greatest gift of Jesus Christ. Our time will include reading the Bible, doing Bible activities, watching videos, praying and journaling. Supper is provided.

Celebrate Children’s Sabbath

At First United, we strive to tell kids two things: God loves them, and so do we. Help us spread our message of love by attending our Children’s Sabbath worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. Our annual Children’s Sabbath is a time to reflect on God’s gift of children, and the ways we as a church and individuals can renew our commitment to care for, protect and advocate for all children. Celebrate Back to School

With the start of the school year just around the corner, we are ready to celebrate the start of a new Sunday School year! Children and youth are invited to kick-off a fun filled 2019-20 school year on Sunday, Aug. 18. Start your morning in Wesley Hall at 9:30 a.m. with a light breakfast of muffins, fruit, juice and coffee served to all who come. Kids Movie Night, July 10

Come watch the animated movie “Planet 51” at 7pm on Wednesday, July 10 in Wesley Hall. Featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel and more, this will be a fun night for ages 2 through sixth grade. An alien civilization is invaded by Astronaut Chuck Baker, who believes that the planet was uninhabited. Wanted by the military, Baker must get back to his ship before it goes into orbit without him. Children’s Lent Bible Study

All kids grades first through sixth are invited on a seven-week Lenten journey! The “Totally Lent” Bible study will meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. starting March 6 in Room 204. “Faith with Fabrics” Teaches Children Sewing Basics

Starting on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m., the sewing class “Faith with Fabrics” will begin. The class is designed for kids grade 4th and up (parents may come also). Judy Mischke will lead this fun class where youth will make projects for themselves and for area charities. Sewing machines will be provided. There is no cost for the class.
