Westridge UMC News from the July 2006 Newsletter ~ Sue Sieler

Summer has arrived and with it the “summer slump” in giving.  Please continue to remember the financial needs of your church even though you are not able to be in church on a regular basis this summer.  Westridge has an option for you to consider if you are unable to be present in worship on Sunday morning.  As of May 31, we are having mid-week services each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.  If you aren’t able to attend church on Sunday (or even if you are), come join us on Wednesday evening.

Adventure of the Treasure Seekers: Exploring God’s Promises will be the theme of Vacation Bible School at Westridge this summer.  The Adventure will begin on Sunday, July 9 and run through Friday, July 14.  The Treasure Seekers will meet each evening from 6:30 to 8:45 for stories, crafts, recreation, music, snacks and mission projects as they search for God’s promises.  Classes will be held for Age 2 through Adult (if there is interest).  If you interested in attending VBS at Westridge or if you have questions, please contact Sue Sieler at 379-2538.

To help make the Adventure of the Treasure Seekers exciting for the participants, we would welcome anyone who would like to be a leader.  We are also looking for the following items for decorations during “The Big Dig”: 

Picks, wooden folding rulers, large ceramic pots or jars, an open tent or cabana, canteens, sifters or other items to create an archaeological dig site.  If you can help or provide some props, please contact Sue Sieler at 379-2538 as soon as possible.

Westridge would like to extend sympathy to the family of Myrtle Benish who recently passed away.  We will miss her.
