                      United Methodist Men (UMM)

                      Thursday mornings, 6:55 A.M.

Early Risers for Christ began in 1952 through the prayful efforts of 10 men who originated the Christian prayer fellowship.  Over the years the fellowship has reached Christian men from 20+ congregations and many different denominations.  Today around 60 men meet at 6:55 a.m. for prayer and fellowship which opens with the sound of a bell, greeting, and two songs and is followed by enjoying a delicious breakfast.  Then members of the group offer prayers for those individuals they know who are in need of prayer because of the loss of or an illness of a friend or family member.  There is usually a brief 10 to 12 minute inspirational message presented by one of the Early Riser Members or a guest speaker. The preparation and serving of the wonderful breakfast is donated by  five gracious, dedicated, and faithful United Methodist Women volunteers.  The Men pay $4 for their breakfast and the  money above the cost of the breakfast ingredients is donated to 10 different local charitable agencies.  The fellowship and program concludes and the gathering adjourns by 7:30 A.M. sharp so people can get to work on time.   Come any Thursday to Wesley Hall in the basement at First United Methodist Church and enjoy the group. You will be most welcome.
