What is a Scrip card?
The church purchases the Scrip cards, which work just like a gift card. As you purchase the cards and use them, dollar for dollar, the church receives a percentage from each participating vendor.
Where can I spend my Scrip card?
You can purchase such things as: groceries, gasoline, clothes, office supplies, hardware, or enjoy a meal out with friends or family.
Ideas for using Scrip cards:
Give them as a gift to a friend or family member.
Buy them before doing your annual school shopping or for your Christmas gift purchases.
Designate a Scrip card as a donation for a food pantry or another cause.
Purchase them on payday, so you can use them all month long on purchases you would have to make anyway.
Does this really make a difference?
The percentage we receive back on Scrip cards helps us do things for the church that we don’t have in our budget. We have raised money for a new church sign and are currently working toward some new chairs.
Where can I purchase my Scrip cards?
Cards can be purchased in the narthex area each Sunday morning and at the church office, Monday-Friday.
Checks can be made out to First United Methodist Church.
