                      Prayer Shawl Ministry

These Prayer shawls are made by members as part of Our Ministry.  This project was started in an Adult Sunday School Class and expanded from there.  Each shawl has a pattern of three; and the number of stiches in the width is divisible by three, for the Trinity.  On the first Sunday of every month, we place the shawls on the railing of the front pews.  As parishioners take communion, they touch each shawl and offer a prayer of blessing.  Then the shawls are distributed to people in need of prayer.  Prayer shawls have traveled from Australia to Africa and many states.  People of all denominations have received the shawls and the blessings that go with them.  Recently we have started making shawls for infants who are baptized in our church.  Attached to each shawl is a tag with a prayer for you and your family.
